Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue established water supply operations at a community ramp near Striper Cove Road to support units responding to a structure fire on Afton Lane in Goodview.

Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue was dispatched at the request of VDGIF to locate and secure a derelict boat on the rocks near Indian Point. Found a pontoon boat on the rocks adjacent to Indian Point Drive and secured it to the fuel dock at Indian Point Marina.

Dispatched for reports of smoke in a residence on Sleepy Hollow Drive in Wirtz. Per Franklin County, all fireboats can cancel.

Members from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue responded to a support request from units working a structure fire on Mill Iron Road in Goodview. SMLMVFR air trailer, Air 11, was brought to the scene to fill responding unit’s air bottles.

Fireboat 11-6 responded to a request from a visitor to Smith Mountan Lake to recover a very expensive hearing aid from the bottom of Hales Ford Harbour. A diver from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue was able to locate and recover the hearing aid.

Company 11 was dispatched for an injury accident near C6. A wake boarder was complaining about head pain after a fall with possible loss of consciousness. Responding units included Fireboat 11-6, MEDEC 14-8 and Squad 7.

Dispatched for injury accident on a houseboat. Fireboat 11-6 responded to rental houseboat Sophie II VA 2002 RB which was anchored in a cove near marker R2. Found patient laying on deck complaining of back pain.

Dispatched for boat sinking with people on board near marker R11A. On arrival found a pontoon boat beached near Compass Cove Circle. Several people were standing on the beach and one person was in the water attempting to patch a hole in the port side pontoon.

Dispatched for smoke coming from engine room of boat near marker R17 and R18. Fireboat 11-4 responded and found incident under control, no fire and all occupants safe. Comercial towing service Sea Tow also responded to scene and took vessel under tow.

Arriving at the same time as Wagon 10 from Saunders Volunteer Fire Department, crews from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue observed nothing showing from A, B, C or D sides. We found the occupants of the house on the boat dock departing in a pontoon boat.
