Fire on a Barge - Windtree Point Drive

Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue responded to a fire on a barge in the area of Windtree Point Drive, Moneta. Once on scene found three barrels of construction debris on fire and not being monitored. Working with responding Franklin County units, the fire was extinguished.

Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue was dispatched to investigate reports of HAZMAT in the water near Halesford Bridge. Once on scene found a rainbow sheene on the water in the area of Captain’s Quarters docks and extending back into the cove near Parrots Cove Marina.
